The Citizens Fire Academy is an 8-week program that will be held on Wednesday nights, starting April 1, 2026, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. It is an opportunity for citizens to get a more in-depth insight into the history of the department and the services that we provide. Participants will receive both classroom and hands-on training from our staff. Subjects that will be covered include, but are not limited to station tours, apparatus orientation, emergency medical services, fire safety, search & rescue, fire behavior, extinguishment, vehicle extrication, and live fire demos.
Any citizen 18 years of age or older is welcome to participate. The class size will be limited to 20 students, so make sure you sign up as soon as possible.
Listed below are the documents that need to be completed to register for the class. Please submit your application and the waiver/release of liability and indemnity agreement to mchristensen [at] whitebearlakemn.gov (mchristensen[at]whitebearlakemn[dot]gov) or drop them off at the Public Safety building, which is located at 4701 Highway 61 N, enter the building through the Police & Fire entryway.
