Description
Matoska Park spans 4 acres of White Bear Lake shoreline, from the swimming dock at 7th Street to the gazebo south of the Manitou Island Bridge.
Several picnic tables and benches are peppered throughout this tree-shaded park to allow viewing opportunities of picturesque White Bear Lake, the historic Erd-Geist Gazebo and the Spiess landing marker, which commemorates Gerry Spiess' sail across the Atlantic in his 10-foot homemade boat. Stroll a walking path with a trail to the bridge and stop for a refreshing drink of water at the newly built handicapped accessible restrooms near the center of this park.

The gazebo was completely restored in 2021 with materials that will allow this landmark to be a part of our community for future generations to come.
The gazebo may be reserved for a maximum of two hours. For a current rate, view the Fee Schedule here. For reservations, call Public Works at 651-747-3650.
Boating Launch Permits
Boat launch permits are available online and tags are mailed to your home. You may also acquire them onsite or use the drop box in front of City Hall or mail in your request. If using the drop box or mailing in your request, please include your name, address, phone number and trailer sticker or plate number. We will mail your launch tag back to you. The fee is $30 for residents and $80 for non-residents. Click for information related to parking a trailer at Matoska Park.
Mooring, Skid, Canoe and Kayak Rack Rentals
There is limited availability for mooring, skid, canoe and kayak rack rentals. If you are already on the waiting list, please let the City reach out to you when a vacancy occurs.
